AdvancedTCA Summit 2008

AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA are far more than just the most exciting things to happen in the board business since VME. They are, in fact, the most important developments ever. For the first time, we have a complete ecosystem of customers and vendors working together to specify, implement, and apply the new technologies.”

Background

CCC Rev Chart 2008For the year end revenue actuals based on Crystal Cube Consulting’s (CCC’s) recent review of shipments and revenues we saw a year-end 2007 revenue of approximately $0.65 billion as the chart reflects below. We see 2008 with substantial growth especially now that we are receiving numerous input as to AdvancedTCA platforms shipping and we are just a little over half way through the year. So 2008 is projected by CCC to hit very close to the $1.0 billion mark, which is a 53.8% change over 2007. In 2009 we see about the same amount of growth closing in on $1.55 billion by year-end 2009 with a 55% change over 2008; so very good growth indeed but certainly not off the charts.

“Now we’re seeing that the maturity of ATCA, along with this transition to services over IP, is creating excitement, enthusiasm, and growth in the ATCA market segment.  In fact, IDC predicts that ATCA will be a $6 billion hardware industry by 2010. We’re also seeing the commercial deployments from megacarriers like NTT DoCoMo and Korea Telecom as they retool their infrastructure with ATCA.”
